4 of the highest rated players in FIFA23 come from Premier League

16 September 2022

One of the most anticipated dates of the year in the world of esports in the UK, and especially for fans of the FIFA franchise, is almost upon us, because the hugely popular football game’s newest edition is set to be released officially on Friday, September 30th. Developer EA Sports will be releasing two versions at the same time, the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition, both accompanied by a bunch of pre-order bonuses, including 1 Team of the Week 1 player, a FUT Ambassador Loan Player Pick, and Career Mode Homegrown Talent. As usual, EA Sports is revealing the player ratings for the game’s best players in the build-up to the official release date, so we’ll have a quick look at which players will carry the highest ratings in FIFA23, both overall and in the Premier League specifically.

4 Premier League stars amongst the world’s best

While Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has been given the joint-highest rating in the game (91), no other Premier League stars find themselves in FIFA23 top five. De Bruyne shares his rating with Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi, his PSG teammate Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid striker and one of this year’s favourites for the Ballon d’Or Karim Benzema, and new FC Barcelona signing Robert Lewandowski. Between places six and ten though, no less than three Premier League players get a spot, including Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo, Liverpool talisman Mo Salah, and goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid) and Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich). They have all been given a rating of 90 by the developers at EA Sports.

What about England’s best?

When looking at the Premier League separately, the previously mentioned four players who are active in England logically also top the ratings chart. A group of six PL players have been given a rating of 89, those being Spurs star Heung Min Son, newly acquired Man United midfielder Casemiro, Liverpool goalie Alisson, Tottenham’s Very Own Harry Kane, Manchester City shot stopper Ederson, and Chelsea engine N’Golo Kanté. As you can see from this list, Harry Kane is the highest rated player from the United Kingdom in FIFA23, followed by Liverpool left-back and Scotland captain Andy Robertson, and his teammate at Anfield Trent Alexander-Arnold (both rated 87).

The last of the FIFAs

As you probably know, FIFA23 will be the last edition in the FIFA video game franchise. After a collaboration of 30 years between EA Sports and European football governing body’s FIFA, each party will go its separate ways due to an unresolved conflict in regard to image rights and financial demands. EA has already announced that they will come out with a new football video game next year, titled EA Sports FC, and FIFA are supposedly exploring the possibilities of releasing a football game of their own, as well.
