British Fortnite pro "Mongraal" joins growing Red Bull roster
9 April 2025
Ever heard of Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson? If you are an avid fan of esports in the UK, and of Fortnite in particular, then this probably sounds like a stupid question. For those who are less familiar with the Fortnite ecosystem though, “Mongraal” is one of the best British Fortnite players right now, known for winning the Chapter 2 Season 4 FNCS Grand Finals in 2020 and FNCS: Season X Week 5: Europe, amongst other achievements. The reason we are putting the spotlight on him today is because it was just announced that he has become the latest professional esports athlete to join the ranks of Red Bull as a player.
Comeback in style
“Mongraal” was born in 2004 in Sidcup, Bexley, in south-east London and started playing Fortnite professionally when he was just 13 years old, joining Team Secret. At the time, he was lauded as both the “No.1 British Fortnite Player” and the “Youngest Competitive Fortnite Player”. This was back in 2018 and a year later, “Mongraal” made the step to FaZe Clan. He was part of the well-known North-American outfit until 2023, when he decided to take a break from competitive Fortnite.
As a result, the recent news of him signing a contract with Red Bull in essence represents a comeback of one of the best UK Fortnite player ever. At the energy drink producer’s team, “Mongraal” will be joining German player Amar “Amar” Al-Naimi and Norwegian player Martin “MrSavage” Foss Andersen. Together, they will be representing Red Bull throughout the 2025 Fortnite season, both in official competitions and as part of Red Bull Gaming events and initiatives in the United Kingdom.
"Red Bull has always been a sponsor I wanted to get”, says “Mongraal” himself, I'm always drinking a Red Bull for the past five years. It just ties in perfectly […] Joining Red Bull is a dream come true. Red Bull has always been about pushing limits, and that’s exactly what I want to continue doing in esports. I can’t wait to get stuck in and see where we go from here.”
No shortage of ambition
Even though “Mongraal” will have an entire season to prove himself as part of one of the most promising Fortnite rosters around, he already seems like a perfect fit. Like the Austrian energy drink company, “Mongraal” has no shortage of ambition when it comes to his performance and what he would like to achieve. Naturally, the main objective is win a Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) as soon as possible, but that’s not at all. The young Brit is also focused on his own social media presence, as he dreams of taking his current 5 million subscribers on his own Youtube channel to 10 million as part of Red Bull Esports.
"I'd love to win an FNCS, and I'd love to reach 10 million subscribers on YouTube”, says “Mongraal”, “I think those two things are really big goals, but those are goals that would be worth achieving."
