You are here, so you are probably more than aware of Fortnite. And what about Daft Punk, the legendary French music duo, responsible for monster hits like “One More Time” and “Get Lucky” (ft. Pharrell Williams)? If you don’t know who we are talking about, you will soon enough, because it’s almost time for the reveal of the long-awaited collaboration between Fortnite and Daft Punk. It has been announced for Saturday, September 27th, at 19h00 UK time (for the players and fans of esports in the UK).

The Fortnite Daft Punk Experience

The official name of the Fortnite x Daft Punk collab is the Fortnite Daft Punk Experience, which was announced just a few days ago. Since then, the announcement has been garnering more and more attention, but Fortnite developer Epic Games has revealed precious little further information about the event. The entire Fortnite Daft Punk Experience will land in-game on Saturday, September 27th, at 19h00 UK time.

What we do know, is that the Experience will consist of various activities and rooms, which are all heavily Daft Punk-themed. This includes the Dream Chamber Studio, where players can remix Daft Punk songs, the Robot Rock Arena, where players can fight hordes of robots with a soundwave laser, and the possibility for players to create a complete LEGO music video for Daft Punk’s worldwide hit “Around the World” inside LEGO Fortnite.

Daft Punk bundle and items

The official Fortnite Daft Punk Experience goes further than dedicated rooms and exclusive activities, though. As expected, Epic Games will also introduce a special Daft Punk bundle and a bunch of Daft Punk-themed items. Expect the musical duo’s iconic helmets, signature outfits and creative accessories to become available. According to Epic Games, all of these will be available for purchase in the in-game store from Friday, September 26th, onwards.

Finally, players will also have the option to purchase a Daft Punk Jam Track, which is their worldwide hit “Get Lucky” from 2013. The song was recorded together with American artists Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, and ended up winning various awards, including two 56th Annual Grammy Awards (for “Record of the Year” and “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance”. The collaboration with Fortnite provides Daft Punk, whose two members split up in 2021, with a unique opportunity to introduce their style and music to a fresh, young audience, while older Fortnite players will undoubtedly love the nostalgia.

No Daft Punk reunion

The recent announcement of the Fortnite Daft Punk Experience also made fans wonder whether this meant that the group was back together. It is purely an immersive gaming collaboration and there will not be any new music, for example. It’s all about adding the group’s unique sound and style to one of the most popular games in the world right now.
"No”, said Epic Games when asked about a possible Daft Punk reunion, “The Daft Punk Experience is an immersive music experience based on the band’s beloved music. The band is not getting back together."
