Brand-new: “To The Moon” expo launching in Birmingham in November

22 October 2025

Birmingham is set to be (or better said, remain) one of the major hub for esports in the UK for the foreseeable future, at least in terms of gaming events, expositions and competitions. After official confirmations of DreamHack and ESL One for 2026, an entirely new gaming event has been announced as well. Under the name “To The Moon”, an experienced team of event organisers and industry experts will turn Birmingham’s NEC Arena into a veritable gaming and esports walhalla for two days, on Wednesday, November 12th, and Thursday, November 13th, 2025.

For gamers, by gamers

If anything, To The Moon aims to stand out amongst the increasing number of gaming and esports events in the UK. How? By making it all about creativity and keeping it that way. Instead of creating an overpriced event, the organisers prefer to create a slightly more rebellious event where all the money is kept with the creatives. That means, the developers and designers who create the games enjoyed millions of players around the world every day.

“This isn’t just another gaming expo: This is a call to players, creators, and fans who know the industry can be more”, writes the organisation on the official To The Moon website, “We are here to craft an experience for YOU! From high-energy esports tournaments and meeting your favourite voice actors, to discovering new games and learning how you can break into the gaming industry - we have something here for every kind of gamer.”

Space for 15.000 people

On November 12th and 13th, the NEC Arena in Birmingham will once again be all about gaming and esports, this time for the brand-new To The Moon games expo. Despite it being the first edition of the event, the organisers have picked a venue with space for about 15.000 attendees and a full-blown esports arena. On top of that, the NEC Arena also provides spots for more than 150 exhibitors. That number is expected to be reached, in great part thanks to the fact that the To The Moon organisers want to give everyone and anyone a chance to exhibit their talents, regardless of their budget.

Presentations and competitions

As for the To The Moon expo itself, it consists of an extensive host of presentations, events and competitions. There will, for example, be a meet-and-greet opportunities with lots of well-known voice actors, including Reed Shannon, the voice of Ekko in League of Legends, and Sam Roukin, the voice of Ghost in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare franchise.

To The Moon will also feature various playable games, including Ready or Not by Ireland-based studio VOID Interactive and God Save Birmingham by Ocean Drive Games. On top of that, the gaming festival gives attendees the chance to follow their favourite content creators in action during the League of Legends Creator Tournament. This includes well-known names like Alois “Alois” Nelissen, British streamer “NoArmWhatley” and Dutch streamer Sloppy Walrus, while the tournament has been given a $ 50.000 prize pool (around £ 37.356).
