Full reveal: All teams for first 2025 NLC Winter LAN event in UK

26 February 2025

Just a few weeks ago, the first-ever Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) Winter LAN event to be held in the United Kingdom was announced, which was fantastic news for all fans of esports in the UK. And now the NLC has also revealed the names of the teams that will be competing in the event, which will be held at Nottingham Trent University’s Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies on March 1st and March 2nd, 2025. The live venue has about one hundred seat and tickets have already sold out, but there will also be a separate NLC and LEC watch party at The Nest in Nottingham.

Confetti X

The Northern League of Legends Championship is an EMEA Regional League (ERL) for the Nordics (which includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden), the United Kingdom and Ireland that was created back in 2020. Since then, no LAN events have been organised in the United Kingdom itself. Until now, that is, because at the very start of March, the first official NLC LAN event will be taking place in Nottingham.

The Confetti X venue, which belongs to the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies and which in turn is part of Nottingham Trent University, is a 100-seat production centre with a focus on UK esports events. It offers about one hundred seats and a total of around 4.000 square metres of space that can be converted in whatever setup is needed. As the upcoming event will consist of just two battles, the lower-bracket final followed by the Grand Final, all of them will be played at Confetti X.

All teams confirmed

A total of three teams will be competing at the first NLC LAN event in the UK since the league’s inception in 2020. Los Ratones have already qualified for the finals and will be waiting in the Grand Final on Sunday, March 2nd. Their opponents will come out of the qualifying stage’s lower-bracket, where the final will be between Bulldog Esports and NORD Esports. The latter side was eliminated by previously mentioned Los Ratones earlier in the upper-bracket semi-finals. The lower-bracket final between NORD and Bulldog Esports will kick off at 17h00 (UK time).

Bulldog Esports, in particular, are excited about being so close to the Grand Final now, as they were a bit of an unknown at the start of the qualifications. Their elimination of The Ruddy Sack, one of the favourites to reach the final stages, was particularly impressive and now they are up against another big name. It will be interesting to see if they can push through all the way until the end.

“I haven’t played a LAN in a long time, in a lot of years, so that’s going to be a pleasant experience, in a different country as well”, said Luis Miguel “Lulas” da Silva Azevedo, jungler for Bulldog Esports, after reaching the lower-bracket final, “I’m hyped, I have no idea how it’ll be but we’re here for it. I don’t think anyone expected us to be there from the start of the split, probably not even us.”
