Fortnite Welcomes South Park: Exclusive Skins and Cartmanland Arrive in the Game

When it comes to collaborations and special events, few game titles are as active and as original as Fortnite. As one of the most popular esports in the UK and the rest of the world, they regularly sign partnerships and set up collaborations with brands and communities from all over. Just a few months ago, for example, the game launched an exclusive collaboration with legendary French music duo, Daft Punk.

And now, another long-awaited collaboration has finally come to Fortnite. Since a few days, players can get exclusive South Park skins in the official Fortnite store, as well as other related cosmetics. On top of that, players can also explore a brand-new Cartmanland POI (Point of Interest). Let’s take a deeper look at this latest Fortnite x South Park collaboration!

Fortnite x South Park

The exclusive South Park skins and other items and hit the in-game Fortnite store on Friday, January 9th(16:00 PT, North America), for the first time in the history of the game. That was 00:00 (GMT) on January 10th for players in the UK. It’s the skins that initially attracted the most attention though, and plenty of players have donned their Fortgame avatar in one of them since then. A total of seven different South Park skins is currently available for purchase:

Cartmanland POI

Besides the South Park skins, the Cartmanland POI drew lots of attention from players. For the duration of the collaboration between Fortnite and the series, the Wonkeeland POI will be transformed into Cartmanland. This also immediately revealed to players where to find the new Point of Interest, namely towards the North to North-East edge of the Fortnite Battle Royale map.

Cartmanland is basically an in-game theme park centred mostly around Eric Cartman, one of South Park’s most popular characters. It is actually inspired by the “real” Cartmanland from the series, which appeared in episode 6 of season 5. In that episode, Cartman opens the park with inheritance from his late grandmother, with access reserved solely for Cartman himself.

South Park items

The collaboration with South Park has also introduced a few new in-game items in Battle Royale mode. This includes the Stick of Truth, a mythic item that can influence the storm, and Cheesy Poofs, which are consumables that provide a health and speed boost for players. Other items that are temporarily available in Fortnite are, among others, Stan’s Bus Stop Sign pickaxe, the AWESOM-O Crowbar pickaxe and the Alien Experiment emote.

All of the South Park skins, cosmetics and other items will be available in-game until Thursday, February 5th, when the South Park: Born in Chaos collaboration with Fortnite ends.
