MARVEL SNAP announces entry into world of esports

It looks like Marvel marked 2025 as the year in which they are entering the world of esports in a big way. A couple of months ago, we wrote an article four our international website, about the first Marvel Rivals invitational and now we are back with the comic book giant. This time, it’s all about MARVEL SNAP, the Marvel-themed mobile game that was released back in 2022. The developers of the game, Second Dinner, recently announced the Golden Gauntlet Championship Series, a brand-new open esports circuit consisting of three regional qualifiers and a Golden Gauntlet Worlds main event in November. British players and fans of esports in the UK will circle October 2025 in their agendas already, as that is when the EU and Eastern US qualifier is set to take place.

Entering the world of esports

The Golden Gauntlet Championship Series will be the first venture of Second Dinner and MARVEL SNAP into the world of esports. The tournament is scheduled to kick off next week, on Monday August 9th, with the Golden Gauntlet Open 1. This event will serve as the regional qualifier for APAC (Asia-Pacific) and the Western United States, with all players finishing 5-1 or better to qualify for the Golden Gauntlet Worlds in November.

UK qualifier in October

The EU and Eastern US qualifier, in which UK players can compete as well, will be played in October of this. Exact dates have not been revealed yet, but we do know already that the format and prize structure for each Golden Gauntlet Worlds qualifier is the same. That means a minimal score of 5-1 to qualify and prizes for the sixteen best players. Registration for the EU and Eastern US qualifier is not open yet, but will be announced in due time on the official MARVEL SNAP discord channel. The same goes for the Golden Gauntlet Open 2, the Americas qualifier that will take place after the previously mentioned APAC and Western US qualifier, and before the EU and Eastern US qualifier.
