New Esports Venue Summit to be held in Swansea, Wales

27 April 2022

After a period of speculation, details regarding the brand-new Esports Venue Summit event have been released. It will be taking place in Swansea, in the south of Wales, on the 4th and 5th of May 2022 at the Swansea Arena. This year’s edition of the Summit is the very first physical edition, as the first time the event was organised it took place in virtual form in 2020. With the global coronavirus pandemic seemingly slowing down, we can now look forward to yet another exciting addition to the world of esports in the UK.

Welcome to the Esports Venue Summit

The Esports Venue Summit is, to use the words of the organisation of the event itself, “the world’s ONLY forum devoted to esports venues”. During the event, the idea is to create a mix of market experts from esports in the UK and internationally who will be participating in various, often interactive activities together with attendees. These activities will range from conference panels and networking moments to specialised exhibits and behind-the-scenes arena trips, just to name a few. As a result, the Summit is primarily targeting industry professionals, such as venue owners, event organisers, and solution providers, on top of an audience of esports players, fans and enthusiasts.

Industry experts and speakers attending include several big names, especially in regard to esports in the UK. This includes professionals like Jon Winkle, Managing Director at independent UK LAN party Epic.LAN, James Dean, Director UK Strategy and Commercial at global esports company ESL Gaming, and Andrew Haworth, Commissioner at global esports entertainment company BLAST. They will be joining panels about various topics related to the esports sector, such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on live esports competitions, and attendees will have opportunities to mingle with them as well.

A Roadmap to Revenue Recovery

As a matter of fact, the overriding theme of the 2022 Esports Venue Summit is “A Roadmap to Revenue Recovery”, following two years of coronavirus misery all over the world. The event will therefore be geared towards discussions, insights, practical advice, and examples of how various players in the esports industry recovered revenues during the pandemic. The focus for these will be on the various important aspects of sports venue design and build, management, operations and technology.

The Esports Venue Summit is organised by PanStadia & Arena Management, the leading global magazine for sports venue professionals, and event and exhibition organiser Stadia & Arena Events. Both companies are owned by the London-based Hemming Group, a UK media owner in the B2B industry with more than 100 years of experience in the sector. This company is also the organiser of nationally and internationally renowned B2B events, including road traffic and transport management fair Traffex and the prestigious London Wine Fair.

Tickets to this year’s first edition of the Esports Venue Summit are priced at £395 per person and can be booked here.
