2024 PUBG Mobile Global Championship coming to London in December
31 July 2024
Good times for the fans and players of PUBG Mobile this summer! Right after a spectacular PUBG Mobile World Cup 2024, which concluded on July 28, Infinite Level came out with a piece of long-anticipated news. Not even a day after Brazilian organisation Alpha7 Esports crowned themselves PUBG Mobile world champions, the game’s developer revealed the venue and dates for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2024 (PMGC) grand finals. The event, which represents the conclusion of the PUBG Mobile 2024 season, will be held at the ExCel Auditorium in London, from December 6 to December 8, 2024. Yet another major event to look forward to for UK esports fans and followers!
48 league spots available
There won’t be a lot of changes to the format of this year’s edition of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship, apart from the tournament’s qualification slots. This is the result of the addition of the regional PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) series earlier this year. In total, there will be 48 slots available, which are divided as following:
- 15 slots for invited teams
- 2 teams from Japan
- 4 teams from China
- 2 teams from South Korea
- The winner of the PUBG Mobile Rivals Cup S2
- The PMWC Champions Region
- 5 special invites
- 33 slots divided amongst the participating regions
The way in which the regional slots will be filled depends on the results of the regional PMSL tournaments or by finishing the regional season as one of the respective region’s top PMGC points earners. As for the allocation of the regional slots, 10 slots are reserved for Southeast Asia, 8 slots for Central and South America, 6 slots for the wider Americas, and finally, 9 slots for teams from Europe, the Africa and the Middle East.
Grand Finals in London
The goal of all participating teams is to reach the Grand Finals, which, as mentioned earlier, will be held at the ExCel Auditorium in London. A total of 16 teams will qualify for the season’s final stage and more details about the format are expected to be revealed soon. What we do know already, is that tickets will be going on sale in August, giving fans plenty of time to plan their attendance. The venue can seat up to 5.000 people, but we still recommend getting your tickets early if you’re set on attending the 2024 PUBG Mobile Global Championship Grand Finals.
New circuit announcement
James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports at Level Infinite, who made the announcement regarding the 2024 PUBG Mobile Global Championship, also made use of the occasion to reveal a new PUBG Mobile circuit. At the centre of this new circuit will be PUBG Mobile’s popular game mode Metro Royale, hence its name: “Metro Royale Esports. Players will have to secure and extract as much loot as possible while fending off both other players and AI enemies in an immersive PvPvE (Player vs Player vs Environment) mode. We expect more information about the new Metro Royale Esports circuit over the coming weeks and months.
