24 September 2024

UK esports fans, and fans of Tekken 8 in particular, have been looking forward to information about Golden Letters 2024 for a while and recently, they finally got what they wanted. Red Bull has come out with the players, talent and schedule for the eagerly awaited event. On Saturday, September 28th, and Sunday, September 29th, the Red Bull Golden Letters 2024 will take place at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in the heart of East London. And if we are to believe to energy drink manufacturer, the 2024 edition is going to be the biggest one yet.

Group Stage

Red Bull Golden Letters 2024 is kicking off with a Group Stage, consisting of four groups that contain five players each. The best two players of each group will progress to the upper bracket of the knockout stage, while the number three of each group will get another opportunity to progress through the lower bracket of the knockout stage. All of the Group Stage fights are scheduled for Saturday, September 28th.

Out of the twenty players competing at Golden Letters 2024, sixteen were invited. These include Korean Dreamhack Summer 2024 winner Lim “Ulsan” Soo-hoon, Filipino Combo Breaker 2024 winner Alexandre “AK” Laverez, and Red Bull players Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique and Hoa “Anakin” Luu. The remaining four players won their spots by claiming victory in qualifier tournaments for their respective regions:

  • Europe: Nino “Nino” Schwarz
  • Japan: “Shounen”
  • North America: Mateo “SourPiggy” Davila
  • United Kingdom: Akhil “Tetsu” Kakar

“It’s so good to see Red Bull Golden Letters returning for a third time”, says Red Bull player Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique, “It’s become a real moment for the Tekken scene to look forward to every year, and new global qualifiers are great to give more opportunities and add even more wildcards to this competition. With the competitive scene still working out Tekken 8, the format adds such a great challenge for us, and is going to be so fun for fans to see play out – I can’t wait!”

Live broadcast from London

As many of you probably know, Red Bull Golden Letters 2024 is an offline event and seeing as the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London can host up to a maximum of 150 people, there won’t be any tickets on sale for live viewing. The organisation has compensated for that though, by providing a high-profile hosting team, led by Jamil “Jammerz” McKenzie”. He will be joined by a host of other well-known commentators, including Kobi “K-Wiss” Scarlett, Level Up Your Game co-creator Reepal “Rip” Parbhoo, and Steven “Tasty Steve” Scott.

Red Bull Golden Letters 2024 will be streamed live via Red Bull’s official Twitch and Youtube channels. The livestreams are set to cover all of the action from head to toe, from 11:30AM (GMT) on Saturday 28th and from 10:30AM (GMT) on Sunday 29th. The main streams will be in English, while the following co-streams will be available for other languages:
