Red Bull and Wirtual bring new Trackmania event to UK
28 January 2025
Excellent new for the tens of thousands of Trackmania fans and players in the UK, straight out of the Red Bull headquarters. The world-famous Austrian energy drink producer has just announced a new collaboration with Oyvind “Wirtual”, one of Trackmania’s most well-known players, commentators and tournament organisers. And why is that good news for fans of Trackmania and esports in the UK? Because together, the new partners are bringing a new live Trackmania tournament to the UK, titled Red Bull Faster.
Live event at Red Bull Racing HQ
“Get ready for the ultimate test of speed and skill as Red Bull Faster gears up for an adrenaline-fueled showdown across eight custom Trackmania maps on Saturday, March 1”, writes Red Bull in an announcement on their own website, “Red Bull Faster is set to take place at MK-7, Oracle Red Bull Racing's iconic HQ in Milton Keynes, UK, with online qualifiers open from January 24 until February 7. Players from around the world can head to the in-game club Red Bull Faster to access the tournament's custom maps.”
The Red Bull Faster challenge will consist of races across three challenging maps, all in Time Attack mode. That is one of the most popular game modes in Trackmania, where the goal is for players to set the best time possible on the track in question. Each player can have as many tries as he or she wants, and they can restart as many times as they want, as long as it all happens within the set time limit. Rankings in Time Attack are based on each player’s fastest time on each track.
In case of Red Bull Faster, the ranking will be based on the cumulative best times of each player on each of the three selected tracks. All of this will take place between January 24th and February 7th, 2025, in what the organisation calls the online qualifiers. The one hundred fastest players advance to round two of the online qualifiers, where they will once again battle it out on three custom maps in a knockout format. Eventually, the eight best qualifiers earn the chance to feature at Oracle Red Bull Racing’s headquarters in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, where the live Grand Final will take place.
Tickets on sale
As part of the announcement, Red Bull also let their fans know that tickets for Red Bull Faster are now for sale. There is one type of ticket available for the Grand Finals on Saturday, March 1st, 2025. The event runs from 16h00 to 21h00 and the price is £ 25 per ticket.
