Get ready for UK qualifiers for Red Bull Wings Cup in Miami!
16 September 2026
Earlier this year, Red Bull announced the Red Bull Wings Cup, a brand-new EA FC 27 tournament at a global level. The main event will take place in Miami (Florida, United States) in January 2027, but before that, various regional qualifiers need to be played, including a UK one. In other words, a new competition for UK players and fans of UK esports in general, in one of the industry’s most popular titles. First objective: the Red Bull Wings Cup UK National Final on Saturday, November 14th.
Linking offline and online
The approach to the Red Bull Wings Cup is a bit different from that of most tournaments in the world of esports in the UK. On September 1st, the Austrian energy drink producer officially launched Limited Edition Red Bull Wings Cup cans in the United Kingdom. Each of these cans contains a QR code and a unique code, which can be redeemed for 25 EA Sports FC 27 Season Points, plus an exclusive Red Bull Wings Cup Ultimate Team Kit and a Red Bull Wings Cup Loan Player Item. Like this, the company is offering players from all over the UK the chance to compete for a spot at the Red Bull Wings Cup Global Final in Miami in January 2027.
UK qualifiers
As we focus on esports in the UK, most of our interest goes out to the qualifying options for players from the United Kingdom. From September 27th onwards, UK players can register for various offline and online qualifiers, including PlayStation Tournament Online Qualifiers (until November 1st) and University Qualifiers (until November 7th). There will also be players progressing through the PlayStation Tournament Open Qualifiers and the various Red Bull Wings live activations. Players from these paths will end up in the online FACEIT Closed Qualifiers, a single-elimination bracket hosted by FACEIT.
The goal for UK players is the UK National Final, which is set to be held on Saturday, November 14th, at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London. This event will feature the six best players of the UK as they compete for a chance to represent their region at the Red Bull Wings Cup main event in Miami a couple of months later.
Ginge x Tekkz
Red Bull has chosen Morgan “Angryginge” Burtwhistle and Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt as faces of the first UK campaign for the Wings Cup. The well-known EA FC streamer and the five-time FUT champion will be fronting the entire campaign, from the first UK qualifiers to (hopefully) the final stages of the Red Bull Wings Cup World Final in Miami.
“I’m proper excited to be part of Red Bull Wings Cup. EA SPORTS FC is a massive part of my life and content, but this is a chance to experience it in a completely different way, with anyone able to get involved and compete for the chance to take it all the way to Miami”, said Angryginge in a first reaction, “I’m looking forward to seeing who steps up and makes it to the World Final.”
