At least two new English teams in upcoming EA FC 26

20 August 2025

The long-awaited launch of EA FC 26 is nearing and as it does, more and more information about the game is coming out. Recently, developer EA Sports revealed that the official worldwide release is planned for Friday, September 26th, 2025, which is what we predicted in our earlier article about the game and the new stadiums that have been added this year.
New stadiums are not the only things being added to EA FC 26 and we have a much better idea of all the additions now that the official EA FC 26 closed beta is underway. We know, for example, that the game will feature at least 19 new teams, including two teams from England, which is great for esports in the UK as well. In this piece, we take a look at these new teams with a special focus on Barnet FC and Oldham Athletic, the two English sides that have been added to the hugely popular football game franchise.

Barnet FC

In England, there are four levels of professional football that are collectively known as the English Football League (EFL). These levels are the EFL League Two, the EFL League One, the EFL Championship, and of course, the Premier League. Teams from Wales can compete in the EFL as well and currently there are four sides who do so: Cardiff City, Swansea City, Wrexham and Newport County. All of these teams can be found in EA FC 26.

It is thanks to Barnet FC’s promotion to the League Two last season (from the National League) that the North West London side has been added to the upcoming EA FC 26 title as well. Their return to the English Football Club was a widely celebrated milestone, as their last stint in English professional football dated back to the 2017-2018 season. The Bees impressed in the National League last season by getting 102 points, scoring the most goals (97) and conceding the least goals (38) out of all 24 competing sides.

Oldham Athletic

The other new English team that will be available for the popular “Road to Glory” mode in EA FC 26 is Oldham Athletic. Like Barnet, they got promoted from the National League to the League Two last season, but they did so by finishing fifth during regular season and then winning the National League playoffs. With Oldham, EA FC 26 has added a truly historic name from English football to its game, as the club was founded all the way back in 1895 and were one of the founding members of the modern-era Premier League in 1992.

New sides from all over the world

Apart from the two English sides, at least 17 other clubs will be added to EA FC 26 as well. These include iconic names from various big leagues around Europe, like Pescara Calcio (Italy, Serie B), Cultural Leonesa (Spain, La Liga 2) and SC Telstar (Netherlands, Eredivisie). From outside of Europe, the new teams added to EA FC 26 are San Diego FC (United States, MLS) and Neom FC (Saudi Arabia, Pro League).
